Pre-launch notice: SumSpace is in pre-release development. This policy is written to cover the website, waitlist, beta program and mobile application as those services become available. We will update it if our data practices materially change.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Kalyke LLC (“Kalyke,” “SumSpace,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with SumSpace, including sumspaceapp.com, the SumSpace iOS application, waitlist and beta programs, and related support.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
Depending on how you use SumSpace, you may provide an email address, profile information, support messages, manually entered financial records, Shared Space information, receipts or payment evidence, and other content you choose to enter.
Account and app information
When the app is available, we may receive authentication identifiers, app configuration, connection status, product entitlement status, and limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service.
Website forms
If you join the waitlist or contact support, we collect the information submitted in that form. We use it only for the purpose described with the form and related support or launch communications.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve SumSpace, authenticate users, sync requested financial data, operate Shared Spaces, provide support, maintain security, administer subscriptions and beta access, send service or launch communications, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use financial content to serve third-party advertising, and we do not sell personal financial information.
4. When information is shared
We may share information with service providers that help us operate SumSpace, such as cloud hosting, authentication, account connectivity, app distribution, communications or support providers. We require providers to process information for authorized purposes and subject to their applicable terms and safeguards.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
5. Financial account connections
SumSpace is designed to support financial account connections through Plaid. When you choose to connect an account, Plaid handles the connection flow with your financial institution. SumSpace does not receive your financial institution login password from Plaid Link.
Financial data imported into SumSpace is used to provide the features you request. We aim to minimize access and retain only what is necessary for the product to function, subject to our final production retention policy and legal obligations.
6. Shared Spaces
Shared Spaces are designed to be private by default. Joining a Space does not automatically expose your personal accounts, balances or unrelated transactions. Other members can see the expenses, settlements, receipts and other records intentionally shared into that Space according to the feature’s permissions.
Payment screenshots or evidence may contain sensitive information. SumSpace may restrict visibility of payment evidence to the parties involved in that settlement, while shared expense receipts may be visible to participants in the expense.
7. Data retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as needed to provide SumSpace, maintain legitimate business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with law and protect the integrity of shared ledgers. We intend to provide account-deletion controls in the app. Some records may need to be retained or de-identified where necessary to preserve the integrity of a Shared Space’s historical ledger or meet legal requirements.
8. Your choices
You may choose whether to connect financial accounts, what to share into a Space, whether to participate in optional analytics where offered, and whether to receive non-essential communications. You may request access, correction or deletion of personal information by contacting us.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect SumSpace data. No system can guarantee absolute security, and we encourage users to keep their devices, operating systems and account credentials secure.
10. Children
SumSpace is not directed to children under 13. The product may also be subject to additional age restrictions for certain financial-data features or connected services.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as SumSpace develops. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide notice appropriate to the change.
