Pre-launch notice: These Terms are a practical pre-release draft for the SumSpace website, beta and planned iOS service. They should receive professional legal review before broad commercial launch.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of SumSpace, a product of Kalyke LLC (“Kalyke,” “SumSpace,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using SumSpace, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. The service
SumSpace provides personal-finance organization tools and optional Shared Spaces for expenses and records users choose to manage with others. Features may change during beta and pre-release development.
SumSpace is a software tool. It is not a bank, financial institution, money transmitter, investment adviser, tax adviser, accounting firm or law firm, and it does not provide individualized financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You are responsible for maintaining accurate account information and securing access to your device and SumSpace account. You may not use the service for unlawful activity, fraud, abuse, unauthorized access or interference with the service.
4. Shared Spaces
Shared Spaces let members record, allocate and discuss shared financial responsibilities. Space roles such as Owner, Admin or Member are administrative roles only. A Space Owner is not financially responsible for another member’s debts or obligations merely because they administer the Space.
Members are responsible for verifying expenses, splits, settlements and evidence relevant to them. Leaving a Space does not necessarily erase historical records needed to preserve the integrity of prior shared transactions.
5. Payments and settlements
Unless SumSpace expressly states otherwise for a future feature, SumSpace does not itself hold or transfer money between users. The app may record that a user reports a payment, help another user confirm receipt, or link users to external payment services. A receipt, screenshot, transaction match or other evidence may assist users but does not guarantee that a payment is valid, final or free from dispute.
Users remain responsible for resolving payment disputes and for complying with the terms of any external payment or financial service they use.
6. Subscriptions and trials
Certain features may require a paid subscription. Subscription pricing, billing period, trial eligibility and renewal terms will be presented through the App Store before purchase. App Store subscriptions are billed and managed through Apple, subject to Apple’s applicable terms and account controls.
7. User content
You retain ownership of content you submit to SumSpace. You grant us the limited rights necessary to host, process, display and transmit that content for the operation of the service and the Shared Spaces you choose to use.
Do not upload content you do not have the right to share. We may restrict or remove content that violates these Terms, applicable law or the rights of others.
8. Third-party services
SumSpace may integrate with third-party services such as Apple and Plaid. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Availability may depend on third-party systems, institutions, geographic eligibility and approvals outside our control.
9. Disclaimers
SumSpace is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that financial data from external providers is always complete, current or error-free. You should verify important financial information with the relevant financial institution or source.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kalyke LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of SumSpace. Any additional limitations required for commercial launch should be reviewed with qualified counsel.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using SumSpace at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, misuse or material violations of these Terms. Data deletion and retention are described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. If changes are material, we will provide notice appropriate to the change.
